It is with the heaviest of hearts that we learn of the passing of Ray ‘Ratu’ Louis, who left us peacefully on the weekend after a series of illnesses, and a short stay in hospital with family by his side. As a long-term Bilo Bar club member, Imperial Bilo, and devotee to the club’s success, on behalf of the Bilo Bar Club trustees and members, we extend our sincere condolences to Laurel, his daughters, grandchildren, and extended family & friends.
Fiji was a very special place to Ray who devoted considerable amounts of time, effort, and passion over many years to the Fijian community, Shangri-la’s Fijian Resort & Spa, and endless passing of the coconut to raise money for the many facilities, programs, kindergartens, and local efforts that the Bilo Bar Club took under its wings.
I am certain many of you have your own stories, memories, special moments, and laughs from around the Bilo Bar to share, with now being the time to have a celebratory Fiji Baby in memory of Ray.
